Headline – “NASA Almost Blows Up Moon”

As many readers will know tonight marked the occasion of a “Super Moon”. These rare events mark when the moon is much closer to earth than normally and appears much larger in the night sky. Apparently, no one at NASA was aware of this occurance. “Well, we honestly thought the moon was finally moving in for an attack on earth,” said NASA Senior Director Mark Spitz. “We at NASA have been monitoring the moon for signs of hostility years now. Thankfully, the Supervisor at Arms this night was not as trigger happy as others might of been else we could of been at total war with the moon at this moment.”

In other news President Obama has promised to change the standing order NASA has against the moon to a more diplomatic first response.

The World is a Beautiful Danger

Afraid of the beautiful danger the world holds. I keep myself from ever getting too close. Something catches my eye. Something I cant help but approach. I walk toward the captivating thing, my gaze focused solely on it. As I draw near a warmth fills my being. As I touch the beauty, the pain is severe. I should of known. For nothing here is safe despite how it might appear.

Zombie Do’s and Zombie Don’ts…

This post will start off on a personal note to inform anyone reading that I have recently moved to Flagstaff. You may be asking yourself what that has to do with anything; I will be extremely busy getting settled in here. As such, for the next few weeks there probably won’t be any type of post that I had originally planned to write due to time constraints. I do want to keep the consistency of the blog so I will try to do something that will tie into some future writings.

Weekend Post: Out of Old Material

Well, apparently the previous “Weekend Post” was the last piece of old material I had on hand. However, I do like the idea of having this blog being updated twice a week. As such, I will be thinking of what to do with these weekend posts in the coming weeks. So, for the time being, the weekend posts will be stopping. They will come back once I come up with a good and long running idea for them. An idea I would love to get off the ground would be a comic strip. Unfortunately, I cannot draw. Time Abridged

The idea for this piece came to me while I was having trouble sleeping a few nights back. I worked it out so well in my head that when I woke up I instantly took to writing it out without any problems.  Of course, the fact that this was an idea for a short film helped because from the very beginning I was thinking in that mindset as opposed to a written narrative. I did not take the time to write this in a proper format due to the fact that I have no hopes in regards to being able to shoot this idea. That, and the fact the film would have no spoken words, may make for a piece that is hard to read. In this form it is largely a concept.

The basic idea of being able to manipulate time, but, on a small, personally scale, is inspired by the 2008 video game “Braid”. In that game the concept of time manipulation started out as mostly a game play mechanic but eventually came to have a complex relationship with the narrative. That idea really stuck with me, mainly because I am the type of person that will think of various encounters I have had and how differently they would have gone with only a slight change. “Braid” was a sort of realization of this idea and so is this piece.

Weekend Post: “Darkness”

Whoops, looks like I somehow missed Saturday. Been a bit under the weather here lately and still busy with the last few bits of E3 and the World Cup is still in full swing. Anyway, on to this weeks post. I wrote this one about a year and a half ago now. I have been in a few philosophy classes and “love” is always a subject that comes up. Even after just a few classes discussing this, it has left me grasping for how to describe what love really is. But, when I met the person that inspired this piece, I really thought I might had found someone that stirred up feelings in myself that would bloom into a proper love at some point. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to find out what would have become of these feelings because I lost touch with this person. This piece, however, remains one of my personal favorites.

No New Piece This Week

There will not be a new piece today. Between the World Cup (Soccer/Football), E3 (Gaming Convention) and some personal things, I was not able to find time to complete the piece I was working on. I knew before I started working on this weeks post that I would be busy and originally intended to reuse an old idea I had as it would be a quick work to finish. However, in the process of redoing the piece I came up with alot of new ideas I wanted to put in and the work quickly grew beyond what I had time to finish. The piece I am currently working may have to be put on the back burner until I finish moving to my new city as, I imagine that until then, I will be equally if not more so busy than I currently am.

Check back on Saturday however as there will be another “Weekend Madness” post of an old work I have lying around. I will do my best to have a new work, even if it is as small as a poem, posted here next week as this is the second time in a row I have missed my own deadline.
